Integrating the Science of Reading within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports

Rachel Brown-Chidsey, Ph.D., NCSP started her career as a social studies teacher and then taught special education after learning how many of her students struggled with reading. She later earned a Ph.D. in School Psychology and Special Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Dr. Brown-Chidsey is Professor Emerita of Educational and School psychology and Associate Professor of Special Education at the University of Southern Maine. Her research interests are evidence-based instruction and assessment, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and academic intervention. Dr. Brown-Chidsey splits her time between Maine and her home state of Alaska.
